PTO meetings for the year

PTO meetings begin with a social from 6:30 - 7:00 p.m. This is a great time to visit with your child's teacher and other parents. The meetings follow the social and begin at 7:00
   

Our first PTO meeting of the year was held on September 9th.  Mrs. Ellen Odom, MS, LPC, was our guest speaker.  She is a counselor at Bay Area Clinical Associates.  She gave an outstanding presentation on what to expect from and how to deal with junior high students.

We are fortunate enough to have her returning for the following two PTO meetings to discuss elementary and primary age students.  She gives valuable and useful information on parenting that is applicable to a child of any age.  I strongly encourage you to attend.  It will be worth your time!

Remember, there will be a drawing in May for all those who have attended all three PTO meeting for the 2008-2009 school year.  The prize is one month's free tuition for one child.

   
Special events
Prize Patrol PTO sponsors the Discipline with Purpose Prize Patrol monthly.  Each month, every homeroom teacher selects two students that have best exhibited the stated DWP skill of the month.  The selected students are treated to an ice cream party provided by the PTO.  Make sure to read the Principal notes to found out the DWP skill of the month.
   
Fundraising events
Santa's Secret Shop

Each December, PTO holds Santa's Secret Shop to allow students to shop at school for their family members. 

All proceeds from this event are donated to St. Mary's Home, a nonprofit organization that provides a home for abused and neglected children.  Please support this worthy cause.

Big Field Day Chic-fil-a Booth

PTO sells Chic-fil-a meals during big field day at McGill-Toolen. 

PTO donates the proceeds to Corpus Christi School

Proceeds from the 2008 sale were donated to the technology fund.
   
Volunteer Opportunities
PTO Committee

PTO is currently establishing a committee to allow for more volunteer involvement in PTO run functions.  Also, this committee would allow you to share your good ideas and input.  

We would like PTO to expand to help our school in fun and creative ways.  Any amount of help is appreciated.  Please call or e-mail me if you are interested in helping in any capacity.

Santa's Secret Shop
 Santa's Secret Shop proceeds totaled $1,300.00.  PTO was blessed to be able to give St. Mary's Home a check for this entire amount.
Big Field Day
Chic-fil-a Booth

PTO gave Corpus Christi School Technology Fund $1,500.00 from the sale of Chic-fil-a at Big Field Day.
