Funeral Reception Committee

The Funeral Reception Committee ministry serves parishioners in times of bereavement. In addition to providing food to families when requested, volunteers set up and serve light refreshments during visitation hours. They also assist with cleaning up afterwards.

Since many attending funerals may not be from our parish, the Funeral Reception Committee serves to make visitors feel comfortable and taken care of in their time of sorrow. Our greatest need with this ministry is volunteers who are willing to be on-call with a two or three day notice.

Time required to serve per funeral can vary from three to four hours. We are hoping to grow this ministry so that we can rotate between volunteers per funeral and/or team up in pairs since there isn't advance notice of when this ministry service is needed.
